Tiny Skies — Privacy Policy
Tiny Skies shows the weather for your city as a miniature diorama. It has no accounts, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking. This page describes the little data it does handle.
Location
With your permission, the app uses your device's location to find your current city. The coordinates are used on your device and sent to Apple Weather (WeatherKit) to fetch the forecast. They are not stored by us and are not linked to you.
AI-generated scenes
If you confirm that you are 18 or older and turn on AI scenes, the app asks an image service (Google's Gemini models, or fal.ai for some styles and animations) to draw a diorama of your city. The request contains the city's name and approximate position and a description of the weather — never your precise coordinates, name or contact details. The generated images are stored only on your device.
By default these requests go through our key proxy (see below). If you turn the key proxy off and enter API keys of your own in Settings, they go directly to those services under your own accounts instead.
The key proxy
When AI scenes use our key proxy, your device proves it is a genuine copy of the app with Apple's App Attest. To do that, the proxy keeps a random per-installation identifier (the App Attest key ID) together with a request counter, the day's usage count and whether the free scene has been drawn, so that it can reject forged or repeated requests and cap spending. This identifier is not linked to you, is not shared with anyone, and is replaced whenever you reinstall the app or tap “Reset attestation” in Settings. To limit abuse, the proxy also keeps a keyed hash (not the address itself) of the network a new installation registered from, for one day. The proxy does not keep your requests, prompts or images.
Tiny Skies Plus
Tiny Skies Plus is an auto-renewing subscription sold through Apple's App Store. Apple handles the purchase and your payment details; we never receive your name, Apple Account or payment information. When a subscriber's device asks the key proxy for a scene, it includes the signed transaction record the App Store issued for the subscription. The proxy checks Apple's signature and reads the product, the expiry date and the subscription's original transaction number, and it keeps that number together with the month's count of used scene credits, so that it can apply the monthly allowance. The number identifies the subscription, not you: it is not linked to an account, a name or contact details, is not shared, and is not used for advertising or tracking. Scenes drawn on your own API keys never involve it.
Third parties
- Apple Weather (WeatherKit) provides the forecast for the coordinates the app sends it.
- Google (Gemini API) and fal.ai generate the scenes described above, under their own privacy policies.
- Cloudflare hosts the key proxy.
- Apple sells Tiny Skies Plus through the App Store, under its own terms and privacy policy.
Your choices
Location access, AI scenes and the key proxy can each be turned off in the iOS Settings app or in Tiny Skies' Settings at any time. Tiny Skies Plus is managed or cancelled in the iOS Settings app → your name → Subscriptions. Deleting the app deletes everything it stored on your device.
Children
Tiny Skies is rated for adults and its AI features require confirming that you are 18 or older; we do not knowingly collect data from children.
